It wasn't bad, but it could have been so much better... September 10, 2010 LoughNessMonster Well, after months of eager anticipation I was delighted to finally get my hands on Red Dead Redemption. And I was sorely disappointed. I'm sure you've heard a lot about it in the other reviews, so I'll get straight to the point. The controls are the games biggest let down. The characters movements feel clunky, and you have to hold X to run and tap X to sprint. This creates a constant source of annoyance throughout the game. The horse controls are even worse still, and take a long time to get accustomed to. The aiming system is deeply flawed, and the only thing to show you where your bullets will fly is a small white dot in the center of the screen, which for most of the game is almost impossible to see. Rockstar had a wonderful aiming system in Grand Theft Auto 4. Why would they abandon it? The game also features a unnecessarily complex dueling system that would take a far longer review to explain. The plot trudges along and relies on a series of increasingly repetitive missions to drag it forward. The fun of shooting up a camp of bandits or herding a group of suicidal cows that are intent on throwing themselves in front of the nearest train wears off after you have done it twenty times. And then there are the last seven or eight missions, which just drag the game into the dirt and make the upcoming "shock" ending painfully obvious. So as RDR rode into the sunset I was left feeling unsatisfied. But then again, there are many side missions to embark upon, bountys to claim and a multiplayer mode to keep you entertained. The only problem is that the control issues from single player carry over to multiplayer. Add the shocking amount of glitches/bugs that you encounter throughout all gameplay modes and you have a game that is far from perfect. However, RDR is by no means a bad game, and the characters and open world will keep you entertained for many hours. So, in the end, Red Dead is not the legend of the old west that countless reviews have made it out to be, but it's a damn fine game nonetheless. 6.5/10
IT IS A GREAT GAME September 10, 2010 JASON THIS GAME IS MUCH BETTER THAN EXPECTED IT IS BETTER THAN GFA 5 I RECKON AND ROCKSTAR AS MADE A BRILLIANT GAME TO ENJOY FOR A LONG TIME
Great if you have loads of time to travel between challenges September 9, 2010 Phil Trouteaud (Guernsey) Great game, graphic are fantastic. My only gripe would be the amount of riding you have to do between challenges.

I just wanted to share my opinion of this game, even though many reviews have already been done. However in my opinion this game is just brilliant.I have always liked the GTA series and so with the same people bringing us this game i knew it had to be good and i wasn't disappointed.Massive game and endless places to go to and explore. Some people have mentioned how they got bored or just tired of looking around however if you mix things up and do different things like search around for a while and then do a mission and search and do some side missions then it never gets boring i have found as you are always doing something new.Very enjoyable and a brilliant game overall.Highly recommended.
