surprisingly effective July 30, 2010 muddy9mtb (South Yorkshire, UK) just weird, but works brilliantly on my over used rsi ridden wrist? this has been brought about by a rubbish CAD package and too much mouse action, of the pc variety, but after a few minutes of using the ball the tingly pains and aches up my arm have reduced quite allot...now I'm no expert but thats great!
This is not a 'toy' It works! July 30, 2010 therealist This was an impulse buy guided by amazon's great marketing strategy, yep 'customers also bought...'
I like that though as it guides you to lots of unexplored products such as this inexpensive piece of engineering excellence.
Once you get the hang of it you can fire it away by hand, the red string will end up back in the box.
The thing with this though is it is a serious piece of strengthening equipment.
Let me explain..
I am a painting contractor of 31 years on the tools. You look at any painters forearms and you can tell if he's l or r handed. Had constant remarks over years re my 'freaky' right forearm muscle but hey, that arm buys my house.
Once I got going with this 'toy' after fighting it off my kids, the forearm smash helped here,I realised that it was tame in my right hand but once switched to my left I got a workout! Serious.
It's gonna take a few months for weedy to catch up with the freak but it's working!
So all you normals out there don't think this thing is a worthless toy cause you too can get freaky arms!
excellent piece of machinery July 27, 2010 boltonkev i broke my wrist and arm earlier this year and bought the powerball because i was having a bit of trouble with my wrist ,ive been using it a couple of weeks and the difference is great ,i would recommend one of these to anyone
Pleasantly surprised July 8, 2010 C. A. Keilloh (UK) I received this as a birthday present. I asked for it on a whim, a cheap pastime at worst, if it could do what it advertises to do all the better. I play the drums and ice hockey, so building up finger, arm and wrist strength is the name of my game.
This thing is exceptionally fun. After the breaking in period of 2 days or so while my fingers got acclimatised to the power and grip on the ball, the only time I have been able to put it down is when the burn becomes too much.
While the ball is active, holding it in certain positions (many exercises for the ball are available on youtube) generates a great amount of force and subsequent muscle exercise on certain areas in the arm. After exercise you can really feel your arm and wrist has had a good workout and like all exercise, it's addictive!
Best of all is the balls portability. No weights or dumbbells to transport around to wherever you want a burst of exercise. I use my ball in the garden, the park, my bedroom...the world is my oyster. The ball is a bit noisy however, so I don't recommend using it at the dinner table or on the bus as examples.
In short, great price, great buy.
Powerball regular June 30, 2010 HelenC This is great!!!!! I'm a climber and needed an extra boost to help with hand and arm strength. You can feel it - and see it - working your fingers and forearms and with the other exercises you can exercise your biceps and triceps too. This certainly does the trick. Don't let anyone else have a go tho or you'll never get it back!
