As Expected July 15, 2010 Katie Barnett This was exactly as I expected it to be, and I managed to solve the puzzle using the helpful instructions included.
Rubik-tastic July 13, 2010 djkirton The original and the best.
Highest quality and has the true Rubik's feel to it which some report as too stiff for speed but for me the original feel and motion is half the challenge.
Worth every penny and I recommend to all.
Packaging!!! July 12, 2010 Deb The toy is an all time classic, cant fault it. this is more of a complaint than a review. The packaging for the cube is ridiculous! It was in a massive box due to the stupidly big packaging for such a small cube. Theres no need for it, it needs to be reduced. Are we not supposed to be saving the enviroment...........
Children love it..! July 5, 2010 Zed2008 (UK) It's no wonder why the Rubik's cube is a classic.. Brought this for my 10 year old nephew, he was delighted! It gave him a challenge, got his mind working and also looks really cool so he takes it wherever he goes.
It is also great to cure those fiddly fingers, and I think kids like the idea of trying to solve a puzzle that seems so simple.
A great, educational and fun little toy :)
It has its ups and downs. July 3, 2010 Psimikakis Chalkokondylis (UK) As many other people have commented, the newer version of this game is not as durable as the old one.
This is unavoidable, and I have a feeling it is universal among every aspect of our lives, things are made to last a lot less these days than they did 10, 20 or 30 years ago, from mobile phones to computers, TVs, books, and games such as rubik's cube.
However, Rubik's cube is a classic and a very stimulating game (especially if one goes about all the different approaches of solving it). The only two problems mentioned is that the cube breaks easily, and that the stickers come off very easily, both of which can be remedied in less than 10 minutes. There are guides on the internet which show you how to clean lubricate the cube to make it run smoothly, as well as guides on how to glue the stickers (or any other stickers) back on the cube.
I understand that they should be making more durable cubes, but since they don't we have to deal with it (or spend a lot more money buying an original 80's rubik's cube - which inevitably will break down if you don't clean and lubricate it properly, just a bit later than this one). And as with everything, you have to maintain it properly if you want it to last for a long time. You wouldn't buy a bicycle and expect it to work perfectly for the rest of your life without any maintenance, would you?
